Dallas Divas with Dallas Winds!

Lyric Stage joined Dallas Winds Friday, September 29, 7:30 PM at the Meyerson Symphony Center for a special evening of music from the Great American Songbook sung by the Dallas Divas.

The concert featured songs by Rodgers & Hart, Irving Berlin, George & Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Henry Mancini.

The 2017 Dallas Divas are Julie Johnson, Catherine Carpenter Cox, Kelly Silverthorn, Kristen Lassiter, Sally Soldo, Daron Cockerell and Amy Stevenson.

Songs in the program included “S’wonderful,” “I Got Rhythm,” “All the Things You Are,” “Moon River,” and “My Funny Valentine.”

Jeff Hellmer, Director of Jazz Studies at The University of Texas, conducted the Dallas Winds. Orchestrations and musical arrangements, created especially for each Diva, were by Dean Bouras.
